I purchased this battery as a backup for my camera. It works great and I love having a second one for traveling.
Bought this at the same time I bought my new camera. It performs identically (in capacity and charge time) to the original Panasonic battery.
I did return it and am waiting for credit I expect to receive. This battery does not work with Panasonic DMC XS3 camera. All specs match but when inserted in camera display reads error and shuts down. This was the second battery (after market) I purchased for this camera that did not work. I accepted the fact you have to buy the high priced Panasonic battery.
It then occurred to me that the battery might have been pre-charged. Since Panasonic battery came with the camera required about 2 hours to charge, I thought the battery was defective and asked for a replacement. Received the battery, put in the charger and the green light on the charger went off in 5 minutes. And sure enough, it worked as well as the Panasonic battery. The replacement arrived in 2 days, and the same thing happened. The green light went off in 5 minute. I guess I owe the vendor this note for my oversight. Perhaps the vendor should make it clear that the battery is pre-charged.JWL
Got this for my DMC-TZ5S and it works great. it is a battery. it works as expected, no downside.
